In The Barrel: Lexington Winery

Lexington Wine Co brings wines born from high-elevation mountain vineyards in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Their goal is to offer singularly distinctive wines representative of the remote, beautiful land they farm. Gist Ranch vineyard, home to Lexington wines, is located on the Pacific Plate in Santa Cruz County at an elevation of 2,400ft. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon vines were planted by the Fogarty family in 2000 and were carefully farmed to establish optimal organic, sustainable farming practices for ten years before their first release in 2011. These wines are grown and made to be expressive, traditional, energetic, unapologetically, not “conventionally Californian,” with vibrant fruit, energy, complexity, and depth!
