Taste & Learn: Sake 101
THURSDAY, JUNE 19 | 6 PM – 9 PM | PRIVATE DINING LOUNGE
Join us for a special evening of discovery as we delve into the world of sake with certified Sake Educator Todd Eng. This introductory tasting event is designed to educate and inspire, offering residents a chance to explore the traditions and nuances of Japan’s most iconic beverage.
Sake, often referred to as nihonshu in Japan, has been brewed for over 1,000 years and holds deep cultural and ceremonial significance. Made from polished rice, water, yeast, and koji mold, sake is as much an art as it is a science. From its roots in Shinto rituals to its presence at modern celebrations, sake continues to evolve while honoring its ancient origins.
During this session, Todd will guide us through the fundamentals of sake production, explain the different classifications and flavor profiles, and share best practices for tasting and serving. Guests will enjoy a curated selection of sake varieties, each highlighting a unique style and region, along with light palate-cleansing bites.
Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or a curious newcomer, this is a unique opportunity to deepen your appreciation for sake in a relaxed, social setting. Seating is limited, so notify your club concierge to secure your seat.
